Project BIA is one of the ongoing projects at the ADSL in collaboration with Ayton Willow Ltd. UK. The aim is to develop a crossover three wheel vehicle which combines the agility and economy of a motorbike while ensuring the comfort and safety of a car. The two-seater vehicle features a dynamic suspension design which tilts the vehicle in the direction of turning to ensure stability at high speeds, additionally, the vehicle also features variable road clearance and track to adjust to the diverse Pakistani road conditions. The project is done using high performance computing and design techniques. CAD modeling is done in CREOTM, dynamic crash tests are simulated in LS-DynaTM, and implicit stress analysis is performed in Marc MentatTM to ensure the structural safety of the car. Suspension and vehicle dynamics are computed with the aid of Matlab/SimulinkTM.
