Muhammad Ushaq was born at Village Bhera, District Haripur Pakistan on 10th April 1971. He got his early education from HMC High School Taxila, Pakistan. He completed his Higher Secondary Education (F.Sc.) from H-9 Federal College for Men No.2 Islamabad, Pakistan in 1990. He did his graduation in Electrical-Communication Engineering from NWFP University of Engineering & Technology Peshawar, Pakistan in 1995. He received his Master degree in Precision Instruments & Machinery (Navigation Equipment and Systems) from Beihang University, Beijing China during 2001~2003. He completed his PhD in the field of Precision Instruments & Machinery (Navigation Equipment and Systems) from Beihang University, Beijing, China during Sep 2010 to Sep 2013.

He has been working in a public sector research & development organization. He has been teaching courses on Inertial Navigation Systems and Integrated Navigation Systems at Institute of Space Technology, Pakistan since 2005. His research interests include inertial sensors and systems, integrated navigation systems and fault tolerant navigation systems
