Eight Weeks Course on Research Excellence (05 March to 7 May-2017)

An 8 weeks course on Research excellence was conducted for professionals from academia, industry and students to equip them with modern research and analysis tools. It was a hands-on training where participants completed their analysis and thesis using latest research based software.  Dr Zahoor Sarwar (IST), Dr Tahir Iqbal (NUST) and Dr Donald Bruyer (UoA, USA) imparting the training sessions. 
Applied Reliability of Engineering Systems

A workshop on applied Reliability of Engineering Systems was organized for engineers, technical/non-technical managers who are involved in hardware, products, reverse engineering or developing innovative new products to compete in international commercial or defense market. Participants of this workshop gained powerful insights into technology development. Prof. Tariq Mehmood  and Dr Asif Mufti from IST were instructors of the course.

International Workshop on Reliability of Engineering Systems

An International  workshop on Reliability of Engineering Systems was organized on 10-21 Jul, 2017 for engineers and technical managers. Prof. Dr Kamram Iqbal from University of Arkansas, Little Rock, USA and Prof. Dr Zaffar M. Khan from Institute of Space Technology were the instructor of the workshop.

Commercialization of Innovative Technologies for National Development (August 1-2, 2017)

Commercialization of dual use innovative technologies may lead to accelerated socio-economic development through optimal human and capital resource mobilization. Keeping in view the same, a workshop on commercialization of innovative technologies was organized for national R&D organizations.

Board of Research management (BORM)

The ORIC at IST maintains a separate R&D Fund to strengthen and broaden research and innovation. Numerous / faculty & students research projects have been indigenously funded through IST R&D Fund.

During the second half of the FY 2016-17, 2 projects and 3 international Research Travel Grants have been awarded to IST faculty members of nearly 1 Millions.

Mr. Rahmat Ullah Chief Coordinator Institute of Research Promotion (IRP) visited IST to discuss commercialize the innovative technologies / research output of IST Faculty with the industry and operational details regarding session organization on " Technologies for ICT Sector" on the eve of invention and Innovation Summit-Mar 2017.
15-16 Feb 2017
A workshop “HOW TO BECOME A SUCCESSFUL FREELANCER” was conducted on 15th and 16th February 2017 organized by IST Business Incubation Center. The basic theme behind this workshop was to how to earn money through Freelancing and to understand the freelancing tips and tools.

26th May 2017
Dr Waseem Haider (AP, Central Michigan University, USA) visited BIC and discussed motive talk with incubates.
