Institute of Space Technology, being the pioneer institute in Aerospace Science & Engineering in Pakistan envisioned an international forum wherein scientists, researchers, engineers, academicians, private and public industry professionals, entrepreneurs, and students from all across the globe could interact and share the latest research trends related with Space Science, Technology and its Applications. Consequently, the first International Conference on Aerospace Science and Engineering (ICASE) was organized in 2009. Since its inception ICASE is a regular biennial conference of IST and provides a platform to share research experiences, foster academia-industry linkages and to evaluate the latest findings in the emerging disciplines of Aerospace Science and Engineering.

Following the legacy of the past 12 years, Institute of Space Technology (IST) organized the Seventh International Conference on Aerospace Science and Engineering (ICASE 2021) from December 14-16, 2021. ICASE 2021 endured the novelty of being organized from the platform of the National Center of GIS and Space Applications with the theme of "Emerging Technologies in Aerospace Engineering and Geographic Information Science".

ICASE 2021 hosted a global participation of more than 65 invited speakers from a diverse range of countries including, Spain, Morocco, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Croatia, Italy, Niger, Latvia, Egypt, Turkey, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, China, Indonesia, Philippines, Japan, New Zealand and Pakistan. Underlying 10 technical tracks, the conference featured 26 technical sessions, 5 workshops, 3 Panel Discussions, 4 Plenary Sessions, 3 High Level Sessions, 2 Summits, and 2 Symposia along with poster and product exhibitions.

Owing to Pandemic, and to maximize the ascendancy of the international forum the conference was organized in hybrid medium. A total of 110 research papers were presented, while the conference was attended by more than 900 participants, over the course of three days.
The honorable President of Pakistan, His Excellency Dr. Arif Alvi addressed the participants of the conference on December 16, 2021 during a special session on Space Science and Technology for the Socio-economic Development. The session was also attended by the dignitaries from SPD, Strategic Organizations and Tri-Forces.
