I am the director and founder of the WiSP lab and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at IST since Mar 2014. I received my B.E. and M.S. degrees in avionics engineering and electrical engineering from the National University of Sciences and Technology, Pakistan, in 2004 and 2008, respectively. I received my Ph.D. in electrical and electronic engineering from The University of Auckland, New Zealand, in 2014. During my Ph.D. I undertook research field trips to the Industrial Research Ltd Wellington and the Wireless@Virginia Tech research group, Virginia Tech, USA. From Jan 2017 to Apr 2018, I was a Postdoc researcher at CONNECT centre, Trinity College Dublin, Ireland, where I worked on a H2020 project with Prof. Luiz DaSilva http://www.wishful-project.eu/. My research interests include advanced cellular networks, software-defined radios, IoT, bio-signal processing, computer vision and machine learning.
