The Propulsion Engineering And Research Laboratory

Vision:

The Propulsion Engineering And Research Laboratory (PEARL) is the pioneering and sole research facility of its kind in Pakistan. Established in 2015 as an integral part of the Aeronautics & Astronautics department, PEARL was conceived with a clear and ambitious vision - to contribute significantly to the field of rocket propulsion within Pakistan. Our mission is rooted in addressing the challenges and opportunities presented by liquid propellant rocket engines, both from a theoretical and practical perspective. PEARL serves as a dedicated hub for pioneering research aimed at developing novel technologies, pushing the boundaries.

Mission Statement:

At PEARL, our mission is clear: to blend theoretical knowledge with practical applications in the realm of rocket propulsion. We are committed to offering not only theoretical research but also hands-on experiences through practical experiments. Our mission aligns with our dedication to fostering educational growth by providing a platform for students to delve into the intricacies of rocket propulsion systems. PEARL is not just a laboratory; it's a launchpad for academic and technological advancements in the field of propulsion.

Research Areas:

To date, the lab has been instrumental in the successful completion of over 100 Final Year undergraduate projects, 10 Master's theses, and 3 groundbreaking Ph.D. dissertations.

Our commitment to practical demonstrations is not just a mission but a tangible reality. Students engaged with PEARL via academic projects or as interns, gain invaluable experience in designing, building, and testing propulsion systems, equipping them with the skills and knowledge required to excel in fundamental engineering as well as the dynamic field of rocket propulsion.
