Institutional Performance Evaluation (IPE) is an external quality review process conducted by Higher Education Commission (HEC) to improve performance of universities. In IPE, the performance of universities is evaluated against eleven standards of institutional quality as defined in IPE Manual. 
Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) of HEC conducted IPE visit of IST on 16-18 Sep, 2014. The review panel members included Dr. Amir Ijaz, Director QEC, University of Punjab, Lahore; Mr. Moinuddin Ali Khan, Incharge QEC, IBM Karachi; Mr. Riasat Ali Khan, Director QEC, Sindh Agriculture University, Tandojam; and Mr. Muhammad Shoaib, Project Director, QAA HEC, Islamabad. The panel reviewed the documents & records for assessing compliance to quality standards. Meetings were held with faculty, students & administrative officers. Moreover, the panel visited laboratories, library, classrooms and other facilities. During exit meeting, the panel appreciated the efforts of IST & QEC in carrying out IPE activities and shared their findings.
