The Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC), Institute of Space Technology (IST)  organized a one day workshop on “Self Assessment Process and Role of Program Team” on 30th October, 2014. Purpose of the workshop was to teach mechanics of HEC’s Self Assessment process and guide Program Teams on how to prepare Self Assessment Report (SAR). Self Assessment Report provides a mechanism to ameliorate quality of academic programs.

Ms. Mahwish Asmat Ullah from Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University, Peshawar was the resource person for the workshop. She has been conducting workshops and trainings on Quality Assurance matters in education sector. About fifteen participants attended the workshop. Ms. Mahwish started first session of the workshop with overview of Self Assessment Process and role of Program Team in enhancing the overall quality of the program. Then, she focused on the understanding of Program Mission and its alignment with university and departmental mission & vision.  She guided participants on writing Program Objectives and Outcomes which was followed by an exercise. In the second session, the resource person explained various criteria and standards of SAR and way of satisfying them in SAR. 

The closing ceremony was conducted by Muhammad Sadiq Ur Rahman, Deputy Director QEC. He thanked the resource person for her valuable pedagogical guidance and appreciated the participants for their active participation. In the end, Mr. Arbab Mehmood Ahmed, Director QEC presented souvenir to the resource person.
