IST in collaboration with Shanghai University (SJTU) China is developing a small cubesat satellite (ICUBE-Q) for lunar orbit. IST's Satellite lab is working on this project. The satellite will be launched via Chinese Chang' E6 Lunar mission later this year.

IST is conducting a 4-day long training on Lunar Satellite Mission Design from 4-7 March in IST. Training is technically sponsored by APSCO. Attendees from APSCO member countries (China, Turkey, Iran, Thailand, Peru, Mangolia and Bangladesh) will attend this training.
